èLUNAPIENA is among the key contributors to C’è Posto!, an urban regeneration project featuring custom-made planters. The new parklet is located in Via Lombardini 20 in Milan.
From April 20th to 26th Milan hosts Milano Design Week 2026, an event that for over 30 years has attracted thousands of professionals and enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy the latest in the furniture and design sector.
This year, the event is the backdrop to an urban regeneration initiative that transforms simple Milanese streets into true meeting places for the community. It is C’èPosto!, a project implemented within SOTTOCASA by Save the Planet through participation in the Milan Active Public Notice of the Municipality of Milan and the signing of a “Collaboration Pact”, a formal agreement between the public administration and active citizens that defines the care, management, and valorization of a common good for the benefit of the general interest.
Thanks to contributors Lombardini22 – promoter of the initiative in the street of the same name – Woodn Greenwood, Kindof, HWStyle and èLUNAPIENA, in via Lombardini 22 Milano C’èPosto! finds the ideal place for the birth of a new parklet: not a park, but the concrete result of a reappropriation of social space that removes parking spaces from on-street parking to give citizens places of recreation, rest, and common greenery.
For this newly designed outdoor space, we at èLUNAPIENA have created custom-made metal outdoor planters that set up and define spaces through pots, seating, and green areas for sharing and use.
The new parklet was inaugurated on April 21st in two dedicated moments:
- from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, time allocated to Community holders SOTTOCASA, contributors, institutional representatives (Municipality and Town Hall), guests by invitation;
- from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, open to everyone, where the parklet was activated and those present were able to freely enjoy the space through informal micro-activities, get to know the protagonists of the project and enjoy the taste proposed by the food trucks.
We tell you about them!
Parklet inauguration on Via Lombardini: institutions, project, and shared vision
The opening day immediately restored the most authentic meaning of the project: transforming a space of passage into a place to live. During the institutional session, the presence of representatives of the City of Milan, Municipio 6, and the partners involved emphasized the value of concrete collaboration between public and private, capable of activating virtuous processes of urban regeneration.The round table was attended by Santo Minniti, President of Municipio 6, Fabrizio Delfini, Councillor for Urban Sustainability, Mobility, Green and Animal Protection, Urban Planning, Commerce, Tourism and Safety of Municipio 6, together with representatives of the Municipality of Milan Marco Mazzei, Councillor for Public Space and School Buildings, Gaia Romani, Councillor for Decentralization, Neighborhoods and Participation, Civic and General Services, and Elena Grandi, Councilor for the Environment and Green.
Among the presentations, Elena Stoppioni, President of Save the Planet, highlighted the importance of creating replicable models, where sustainability and participation become real tools for transformation. Similarly, the contribution of designers and partners revealed a shared approach, in which every element —from design to material choice— contributes to the overall quality of the space.
Parklet Milano: how urban space changes during Design Week
In the afternoon, the parklet changed face: from project to experience. Citizens began to inhabit space spontaneously, stopping, meeting, observing. A simple yet powerful sign of how even a few square meters can generate new urban dynamics. What was previously a space dedicated to parking cars has transformed into a welcoming, open and shared environment, capable of promoting sociality and well-being.Flowers tailored for public spaces: the contribution
éLUNAPIENA In this context, éLUNAPIENA planters are not just functional elements, but true design devices: they define boundaries, organize flows, introduce greenery, and contribute to building a welcoming and long-lasting environment.Made of custom-made metal, they integrate with the architecture and meet the needs of public space in terms of resistance, maintenance and aesthetic quality. Vases, seating, and green areas thus become part of a single design language, capable of enhancing the outdoor experience.
Tactical urbanism and urban regeneration: the value of parklets
There's Place! represents a concrete example of tactical urbanism: a lightweight and replicable intervention, but capable of generating a significant impact on the perception and use of urban space.Parklets thus become transformative tools: they improve safety, reduce traffic speeds, and give people back space, fostering new forms of aggregation and belonging.
Outdoor design and public space: a new design vision
For éLUNAPIENA, participating in initiatives like this means taking your vision of the outdoors beyond the private context, contributing to the construction of shared, accessible, and durable spaces.We believe in a project capable of uniting visions, skills and territories. It is from this dialogue that a new way of experiencing the outdoors is born: more authentic, more relational, more contemporary.
