Rome, the Poliform showroom at Via Sicilia 190, and èLUNAPIENA furnishings are at the center of a talk that has redefined the boundary between interior design, architecture, and urban nature.
There is a place in Rome, at Via Sicilia 190, where architecture stops being a container and becomes a landscape. It is here, in the outdoor spaces of the new Poliform showroom — inaugurated in recent days and designed by the 123 Architecture Office studio — that the talk "Beyond the Green: Landscape Design in the Contemporary City", was held yesterday, one of the most anticipated events of the Insulae program promoted by Open House Roma.
The conversation was led by Pierpaolo Tagliola, architect and landscape designer at AG&P Greenscape, an international leading landscape design firm, who guided the audience in a profound reflection on the meaning of urban greenery: not ornamentation, not filling, but design. Landscape as a cultural choice and as a political act in the construction of the contemporary city.
«Green is not an accessory to architecture. It is a choice of civilization, a language that the city must learn to speak coherently.»
Insulae and the city that opens up
The event is part of Open House Roma's Insulae program, one of the most valuable initiatives for those who believe that architecture and design only make sense when they come into contact with people and the city. An opportunity to open up extraordinary spaces and make visible projects that would otherwise remain in the invisibility of everyday life.A new showroom that is already a manifesto
Rome's new Poliform showroom isn't simply an exhibition space: it's a declaration of intent on contemporary living. The architectural design is signed by 123 Architecture Office, which has been able to integrate interior and exterior in a continuous spatial flow, where the boundaries between inside and outside dissolve into a sequence of environments that dialogue with the city. The care of the interior spaces was entrusted to Poliform itself and to Mobilnovo, a Roman company with over fifty years of history in high-level interior design, Poliform's historic partner and a refined interpreter of contemporary taste. Mobilnovo took care of every detail of the exhibition, bringing its signature to the selection and composition of the exhibition spaces.
For the first time, the collaboration also extended to outdoor spaces: a design innovation coordinated by Mobilnovo thanks to the expertise of Landscape Architect Marta Fegiz, who designed the showroom's exteriors, creating a botanical and architectural tale capable of welcoming, surprising, and making people pause.
Nature as Furnishings: Primaverde Vivai's Contribution
The selection and planting of the botanical essences that inhabit outdoor spaces is the work of Primaverde Vivai, which gave body and matter to Marta Fegiz's project, bringing plants capable of evoking landscape to the showroom even just steps from the center of Rome.Outdoor space: where èLUNAPIENA enters the scene
In this excellent context, the planters and outdoor seating in metal are signed èLUNAPIENA. Each piece selected for the outdoor spaces of the Poliform showroom brings our vision of living outdoors: the belief that the outdoor is not a B-list space, but the natural extension of the domestic identity, to be treated with the same care, the same taste, the same aesthetic ambition as the indoor environments. In a space designed by 123 Architecture Office, meticulously curated by Mobilnovo and enlivened by the greenery of Primaverde Vivai and Marta Fegiz, èLUNAPIENA's furnishings have found their ideal dimension: that of elements that not only furnish, but complete a story.
Being inside one of the most significant spaces inaugurated this year in Rome, is a source of pride for us and a confirmation of the direction we have chosen: outdoor design as a cultural practice, not as simple commerce.
